Anyone who's mouth has the tendency to run away with them will understand the problems and constant insecurity you feel after conversations. Especially when you're a little over excited or nervous and you just talk and talk and talk. As a self diagnosed talksalot i've decided to write a few problems and positive points us talkative people face.
People think you're butting in on purpose
Yes we are dominating the conversation, yes we may not take a breath or you to reply. But no we don't do it on purpose. If we get this excited or nervous to talk to you take it as a complement instead of a crime.
Overthinking everything you say
At that time we literally just say what ever comes into our head and fits around the topic that's being talked about. It's only when we are alone and start thinking about what we actually said that we cringe the hell out.
Hand gestures get a little to extreme
Especially when alcohol is involved be warned there may be a few knocked over glasses and in extreme cases of a very crazy story, maybe some smashed ones too.
Saying things you're not supposed to say
Unless we're told specifically not to tell anyone like a surprise or a secret we will come out with anything and everything if the, that story about the time your were drunk and completely embarrassed yourself...yeah that may come up. Sorry in advance.
Letting people know way too much info about you
We keep other peoples personal life issues deep under wraps but when it comes to our own we may admit to things at the time and later get pissed off because we didn't want anyone to know. We also go super OTT and "too much info" about details in our stories.
Dreaming of being mysterious
We always wanna be that mysterious person who no one really knows about and when they say something everyones shocked, but we'll never experience that because everyone pretty much knows everything about us.
When you're quiet everyone asks whats wrong
While many people can just have a quite day which no one really notices, we get called out on it straight away because is so far from how we usually are.
Although talking too much has it's issues, there are some upsides too this trait which you might not realise because it comes so natural for you.
Always having something to say
First dates = no problem, Job Interviews= what a breeze, Speaking to groups of people = easy peasy. We just get on with whatever it is we have to do, we are really good at making things up on the spot too.
Turning boring into fun
Whether we are in a lesson or just around a boring bunch of people we can easily turn a serious conversation into a laugh.
So whether you think you're a self diagnosed talksalot or know someone who is, don't take it personally xx
