10 Thing's You'll Learn When You Live In An All Girls House

When you're thrown into a flat full of strangers in your first year of uni you want to make the best impression on your new friends as possible. But fast forward to final year when you've teamed up with four of your now best friends you reveal the real you....the good the bad and the extremely weird.

Lady's Are Certainly Not Ladylike

If you think girls living together will mean pillow fights and dancing all the time then you are sadly mistaken. This is our house and our safe place so if we don't wanna shower or throw up because we drank off milk we will.

Your Periods will all sync

This may seem like a convenient thing but trying living with 4 other girls who are just as moody and tired as you are. Every little thing is something to complain about HOW DARE YOU USE MY KETTLE WATER YOU STUPID BITCH.

Every Occasion is An Excuse To Chat

Just gone downstairs to make a quick cup of tea or take a toilet break from all the studying your gonna start doing.....of course i've got time for an hour chat about that woman who keeps looking at us next door, its an important matter.

Your Landlord is On Speed Dial

Without sounding very sexist a house full of girls can go into utter chaos when the heating goes down. I honestly feel a tiny bit bad for my landlord sometimes because nothing is ever right and he has a lot to do......but then I remember...he's kinda a dick.

Everyone is Scared of Ghosts

No matter how strong one of you is or how many jokes you crack about ghosts in the house to scare everyone, as soon as you hear a noise in the middle of the night you'll hide under the covers and beg your housemates to let you in their bed.

Baking Anything Means Sharing With Everyone

The smell of baking somehow sneaks into everyones room and the kitchen will magically fill up just at the exact moment those muffins are out the oven.......typical.

Piss Someone Off And Your Dishes Will Not Be Washed

No matter how much you get along there will always be moments of tension. If someones acting a little odd, thats it the guards are up and for at least a day the house is a war zone and the kitchen is the battle. Plates and cups will not be safe.

You Know Every Intermit Detail About Each Other (whether you like it or not)

Since your life has now turned into a never ending sleepover, with the occasional trip to uni you get a lot of talking done. From 3am deep talks about life to oversharing great details about your sexual habits. As well as each other, you'll get to know their boyfriends pretty well too and meeting  them can be a bit awkward: "hi nice to meet you i know all about your penis".

Chicks Before Dicks:

No matter how much drama is going on between your girls, when someone needs a shoulder to cry on, a person to make them fill a little less crazy or even someone to write a reply for you, your house will be the ultimate girl power team.

You'll Get Excited to Hear Each Other Come Home

You're so used to having each other around all the time that when they go away for the weekend you really miss them. You're like a mini drama filled family who love each other but also want to hit each other sometimes too....but thats okay.

It may be dramatic and sometimes you will want to kill each other but living with your best friends is an experience you'll rarely get to do so love every moment you share with each other xx

November Detox | The Grey Jumpers

Between the spooky parties of Halloween and the festivities of Christmas, lies little cold November. Our first month off since summer and the perfect time to just take it easy and prepare for December.

I call this a detox month because it's my detox from colour, the transition from autumn to winter. This year in particularly i've noticed a little bit of a trend.....when I say a trend I mean a pretty much identical occurrence. I like grey, grey jumpers to be precise.

Now you may be thinking whats the problem with liking or having grey jumpers? How about having five. That's right I brought five different grey jumpers on five separate occasions in the past year. If that doesn't scream "i've got a bit of an obsession" i don't know what does.

Top to bottom: H&M, Topshop, H&M, Forever21, Cotton On

Being the neutral between black and white, grey is the perfect shade (was going to say colour but I remembered all those people who used be like "IT'S NOT A COLOUR ITS A SHADE").

It's subtleness can make your outfit blend into the winter morning. You can dress grey up but personally I prefer to keep it beautifully simple. With a small silver chain and black jeans you are keeping it basic yet looking rather chic.

Textures are just as different as colours and very noticeable with grey. From knitted wool to soft fluffy cotton, a noticeable texture can proved that little touch your outfit needs to be perfect.

Now comes to my explanation for having five, firstly each one is different: a hoodie, a sleeveless one, one is longer at the back, a fluffy one and a knitted one. Secondly it goes amazingly well with black and we all know that many of us live in black jeans or leggings as soon as it gets cold.

Maybe the grey reminds me of snow? or maybe I just want to give my wardrobe a slight change from all the black? Whatever the reason it's happened and I'm not mad about it, in fact I want to encourage you who don't have one to give it a try. xx

Halloween Treats | Cupcakes and Jelly Shots

Not only is halloween about dressing up but getting drunk and eating yummy food is also a must. What could possibly be better than cupcakes and jelly shots? Throw in some festive Halloween decorations and you've got yourself the perfect party treats!

Halloween Cupcakes

What you need:

Basic vanilla cupcake ingredients

Spooky cupcake cases (poundland) Ready to use black icing and orange food colouring (Tesco)

Firstly

Bake your cupcakes, I'm not going to bother writing it all out here, you should know how to make cupcakes but if not just Google it.

Leave them to cool while you get onto the serious business

Roll out about a third of a pack of the black icing, make sure you flour the rolling pin before but try and use as little as possible since it will turn the black into a grey.

Cut out a load of triangles, trying to keep them the same size but if not it's not the end of the world. These will be your pumpkins eyes so make sure theres enough for 2 on each cake.

Using the same icing, roll out your icing again if there isn't enough space. Cut out little mouths for your cakes you can do the same or different styles for each cake. This is very fiddly and takes ages but I promise you it's worth it.

Make some butter icing by mixing icing sugar and butter together until it's nice a thick. Slowly add in drops of the food colouring so it spreads evenly and mix until you like the colour. To get it this orange we used a whole tube of it.

Assemble all your decorations once the cupcakes have cooled completely on top (otherwise this will turn into a big orange mess) We piped icing for 3 of the cakes and released we didn't have enough icing for that luxury so we just spooned on the rest.

Then stick on your triangles and mouths evenly while the icing is still wet.

And tada, the cutest little pumpkins you've ever seen!

Spooky Shots

What You Need:

Peach Schnapps (any alcohol) , Halloween (gummy worms/teeth), Blackcurrant Jelly (you can also use orange or apple jelly as they are halloweeny colours too), Bowl and Shot Glasses.

Firstly make jelly how you normally would by mixing it with half a pint of boiling water. Instead of pouring another half pint of cold water which is what your supposed to do, mix a 1/4 pint of cold water with 1/4 pint of Peach Schnapps. This makes the jelly set normally but still have that alcoholic kick!

Throw your gummy's into the mix to make it a little more festive and let the jelly set over night or for a few hours.

Set aside some gummy's for a little decor later ;)

You could pour the jelly mixture into the shot glasses firstly and let them set in there but it's actually super hard to actually get the jelly out. Instead we spooned the set jelly into the glasses.

Yeah that decor I mentioned earlier really saves this shot, otherwise it'll just look like a normal jello shot but now its magically festive!

Happy Halloween xx

Halloween Tutorial | Washed Up Mermaid

It's that season again! Hello pumpkins and goodbye sunshine. I'm super exited about this look as it's creepy but sexy at the same time which is pretty rare if I'm being honest. If you wanting a more bloody or gory look check out my dead prom queen tutorial from last year. I came up with this costume idea after I dyed my hair "Washed up mermaid" colour but more about that here.

What You Need:

BASICS:

Face paint, Eyeliner (liquid and pencil), Mascara, Blue/ Green Eyeshadow (creme and power), Blue Glitter, Liquid Latex. Brushes and Sponges as necessary.

Optional:

Fake Eyelashes
Sliver Lip Gloss

Firstly:

Using your cheap face paint set mix green and white together to create a kind of seaweed colour and spread it around you face but make sure you leave your eyelids and a little bit under your eye uncovered.

I had to include this picture because it's hilarious

Then:

Using a white face crayon or whatever its called, contour your face like you usually would with bronzer or highlighter. Mark your check bone a little more then usual because scary things always have more defined cheekbones.

With your lightest glitter use the white line you just drew as a template to stick your glitter. Luckily my paint was still wet at this point so it suck straight away but if it's not just add a little water or more paint or whatever sticky stuff you want. (haha)

Now For The Eyes

Now using any blue eyeshadow, preferably a cream shadow (I used Mayblline's Colour Tattoo in Turquoise Forever) cover your whole eyelid up to your brow and make sure its really visible.

At this point my camera ran out of battery and although I'm a confidant person walking to the shops like this was not an appealing option so I started using my laptop photo booth. #donthate

For under your eye take a silver cream liner or shadow I used (Topshop Grunge stick) and draw a really thick line, enlarge the flick at the end to make it just touch your eyebrows. This gives your eyes bigger and more fishy looking, because well mermaids are fish...kinda.

Just like normal eyeshadow, you need to shadow your crease using a more green tone to contrast against the blue.

Don't forget to add a bit of eyeliner just to give this look a slightly sexy feel even dead mermaids can be hot.

False leashes are not a must for this look but they do add a little pop to your eyes and if you can find blue ones they'll be the best. For everyone thats not an expert at fake lashes it took me 3 attempts to get these on and I almost had a hissy fit.......almost.

Eyebrows are a centre aspect of your face so why not make them sparkle a little... literally. Dab some leftover green paint or water on your brows to help the glitter stick and glitter up them bad boys.

Lips

Dark lips really give this look the gothic look it needs. If you have a dark purple or even black lipstick then it'll be perfect but I just used a black coloured face crayon thing. Colour in all your lips neatly because this stuff is hard to correct.

More Glitter!

Add some more water or paint to the lower part of your cheeks and draw a slightly thicker glitter line using a different colour or shade from what you used on your cheekbones.

This Gets Messy

Using liquid Latex dab little blobs down on your forehead making sure you put enough to make it 3D and then using your darkest glitter stick it to the latex. Don't worry if you get glitter everywhere thats totally supposed to happen.

Now do the same for the rest of your forehead this gives the look of scales coming out of your hair.

Final Touchups

Firstly make sure your green paint is still all even and theres not big lumps of green, then using a liquid silver liner smudge a silver top coat on your lips to make them slightly grey and dead looking.

Now let your hair flow free girl and embrace your greenish scaly beauty!

By the way I hope you guys noticed the cute halloween bunting I put in the back ground that literally took 10 minuets to hang up so it was in shot!
