November Detox | The Grey Jumpers

Between the spooky parties of Halloween and the festivities of Christmas, lies little cold November. Our first month off since summer and the perfect time to just take it easy and prepare for December.

I call this a detox month because it's my detox from colour, the transition from autumn to winter. This year in particularly i've noticed a little bit of a trend.....when I say a trend I mean a pretty much identical occurrence. I like grey, grey jumpers to be precise.

Now you may be thinking whats the problem with liking or having grey jumpers? How about having five. That's right I brought five different grey jumpers on five separate occasions in the past year. If that doesn't scream "i've got a bit of an obsession" i don't know what does.

Top to bottom: H&M, Topshop, H&M, Forever21, Cotton On

Being the neutral between black and white, grey is the perfect shade (was going to say colour but I remembered all those people who used be like "IT'S NOT A COLOUR ITS A SHADE").

It's subtleness can make your outfit blend into the winter morning. You can dress grey up but personally I prefer to keep it beautifully simple. With a small silver chain and black jeans you are keeping it basic yet looking rather chic.

Textures are just as different as colours and very noticeable with grey. From knitted wool to soft fluffy cotton, a noticeable texture can proved that little touch your outfit needs to be perfect.

Now comes to my explanation for having five, firstly each one is different: a hoodie, a sleeveless one, one is longer at the back, a fluffy one and a knitted one. Secondly it goes amazingly well with black and we all know that many of us live in black jeans or leggings as soon as it gets cold.

Maybe the grey reminds me of snow? or maybe I just want to give my wardrobe a slight change from all the black? Whatever the reason it's happened and I'm not mad about it, in fact I want to encourage you who don't have one to give it a try. xx

Big Booty Problems

I like to think my bum is my best ASSet (I planned that pun the moment I came up with this idea) But sometimes it can be difficult to rock a super cute outfit when your bum just keeps getting in the way. An outfit will never look the same on you as it does on the mannequin because your bum just takes over. So I wanted to write a list of problems all girls with a little junk in their trunk will understand when it comes to clothes.

1 Skirts Never Fit.

Skirts are always far shorter at the back than the front. (Unless they are those amazing designed ones which are longer back) But you never seem to realise just how short they are until after you've already brought them. As much as you try and pull them down throughout the day, you just need to except the fact that half your bum will be sticking out of the back. The answer to this is, a nice thick pair of tights!

2 Jeans Fall Down.

You may now be thinking, just don't wear skirts, but oh no honey. Jeans are no better, giving you a constant builders bum whenever you bend over. Trying to get jeans that fit properly is a nightmare, they need to be big enough to fit over your bum but small enough to be tight around your waist... the problem is they don't exist, well to be knowledge so far anyway.

3 Belts Have To Be Tight.

Along the lines of jeans, there comes the topic of belts. In order to keep those jeans up and that ass hidden, one must put their belt to tightest it can possibly go. This makes sitting down feel like someone is cutting your stomach open and leave you with no so stylish red marks all over it.

4 Dresses Make You Go Up A Size.

Floaty dresses make you look double your size because your bum just happens to take up all the room (how selfish) and to make it worse the top half of the dress is so loose, you have to pull it top while pulling the skirt down!

5 Playsuits? Don't Even Think About It.

Playsuits and Jumpsuits are your kryptonite, similar to the whole jeans situation nothing is going to fit over everything without some parts being to big and to small. So if you really want to venture into the world of playsuits, make sure they are stretchy. I have had way to many heartbroken moments in the charging room over them!

But even after all of these problems, I'm still very proud of my behind, like a very inspirational song once said "I like big butts and I cannot lie".

3 Party Outfits For The Holiday Season

December is a month of parties, dinners and a whole lot of fun. Don't let the cold weather ruin your sparkly spirits!  It's time to get your glad rags on ;)

Here are a few ideas for some festive outfits you can wear for christmas eve, new year or everyday in-between. I've chosen 3 very different outfits as I know everyone has different styles and clothing preferences, I hope this can help you decide what to wear for your christmas and new year.

A Pop Of Colour

I am very guilty of grabbing every black piece of clothing I own and wearing them all winter long, with this outfit you can. Just make sure your accessories have a perfect pop of colour and if your feeling really christmasy add a little sparkle in there too.

Skirt: Forever 21, Shirt: New Look, Necklace: Monsoon, Clutch: Forever 21, Shoes: Steve Madden

I am so in love with this skirt, It's not usually a length I would wear but the sheer floaty over skirt makes it very girly and classy. This skirt would be perfect for anyone who is a little more pear shaped as it is extremely flattering and the floatyness hides any sneaky muffin top.

Statement necklaces are everywhere at the moment, they add a touch of fancy to any simple shirt or even jumper.

This bag is just so cute that I couldn't resist not featuring it on the blog! You can use any clutch just as long as it's not black to stand out against your outfit. I personally love the black and pink combination but it would also looks lovely with a gold or silver one.

The perfect shoes can complete any outfit. I've had these for about 3 years but they alway make an appearance in the festive season because it's the only time of year you can get away with an excessive amount of glitter!

Let it Sparkle

Jacket: Cotton On, Top: Forever 21, Shorts: Forever 21, Boots: Steve Madden, Bag: Market.

Told you that I loved glitter! If you can remember way back to my first ever post "New Years Get Ready With me" You'll recognize this shirt ;) This outfit is so simple yet the sparkly top makes it so much more dressy. The best advice I can give you for wearing a sequin top or skirt is to keep the rest of the outfit plain otherwise it will be just too much. This outfit would be perfect for a night out in the holiday season.

Since the top is such a statement in itself, I kept the accessories rather simple and just added bag to throw over my shoulder. A necklace would just get lost amongst all the glitter but if you did want to add a little more bling then a few bracelets or rings.

I've dressed it down by wearing boots but you can pair it with some heels or flats to give it a more formal look. Boots and shorts go together so well because they really flatter your legs.

Keep It Christmasy

Jacket: H&M, Playsuit: Zara, Necklaces: Forever 21, Tights: Forever 21, Shoes: Forever 21

This outfit is a little more christmasy with the festive red tights and a nice woolly jacket. The red tights add also add a pop of colour to what would have been a very black outfit. Not only does the jacket keep you nice a warm, but it also adds a cute touch to a fancy outfit.

Layering necklaces also gives you a statement necklace, the gold goes beautifully against the black and white and it doesn't clash with the red because they are both Christmas colours.

I decided on a gold clutch to go with this outfit because it matches the necklace, you could also choose a red, white or black bag to match.

Although flat shoes arn't usually my first choice for party wear, I thought these were an exception as they look so elegant that the fact they're not heels isn't too noticeable from the front. They also stand out beautifully against the red tights.

Which outfit do you like the best and what will you be wearing this holiday season? Have a very Merry Christmas everyone xx

My Wardrobe Essentials

You may think you need a huge wardrobe full of expensive designer shoes and coats and be able to dish out the cash every season to buy the new trend to make you fashionable. But all you need are some key items that you can pair with anything to make it seem like you own more outfits.

These key items are better off being your usual colours such as black, white, grey and demin, as they never go out of style. They also make it easier to pair with coloured clothes if you want more in your wardrobe.

Jackets/Cardigans

A blazer is a perfect way to smarten up any outfit, so if you can't be bothered to wear uncomfortably high heels and an "I can't breath" dress, then you're blazer will be your bestfriend.

A plain white cardigan can be for slouching but can also help you dress down an outfit, so if you really want to wear that new dress you brought, but theres not special occasion then just chuck on one of these.

Leather jackets have always made me feel badass and cool so if your outfit is lacking that little bit of edge then the leather will definitely give you some.

Tops/Shirts

A shire black top can be sexy and casual depending on what you pair it with, so if you want a night out look then a high waisted skirt and some heels will make you look hot as, but for a more causal look pair it with jeans and a leather jacket.

I'm a sucker for denium shirts, I just think they go with anything and if I can't be bothered to look for an oufit I just pull one on over some legging and vuala!

Everyone needs a black tank top in their wardrobe no matter who you are! Even my mum has one to put under any see through of revealing clothing to smarten you up.

Although printed jumpers are not exactly the most fasionable of clothing, they are super cute and in winter you just want to rap up in one and drink hot chocolate.

Skirts/Trousers

To me lace is pretty much timeless and gives any outfit that elegant touch, so whether its a skirt or a dress, its always nice to have a little lace in your wardrobe for those special occasions.

Black jeans are a must as they go with absolutely anything, but make sure you get the perfect size because i've been having real trouble trying to find a pair that doesn't give me builders bum!

And of course leggings! they go with anything, they're comfy, easy and oh so in right now, these are a must have in your wardrobe.

What are your wardrobe essentials? Thanks for reading xx
