10 Thoughts Girls Have At The Gym

"Can people smell me?"

Especially if you go to the gym first thing in the morning, there's no point showering before,(except for a deodorant shower of course) which makes your fear worse.

"Can you see my nipples?"

Unless your sports bra is super padded, those girls are coming out one time or another. No matter how baggy my shirt is over the top they always find a way.

"If I go on the cross trainer will people think I'm being typical?"

Everyone seems to joke about the fact that girls only ever go on cross trainers, but they are just so much more fun then running on the treadmill!

"Please don't have sweat patches"

When your running like a bitch and sweating of course your gonna get a couple of sweat patches, just gotta deal with it and if you don't have any then it means you're not working hard enough.

"Did I shave my armpits today? I won't lift my arms up just incase"

On the same subject as armpits, shaving them is very easy to forget when you're running late. If you're in doubt tie your hair up REALLY tight in the changing room before so you can avoid that awkward moment when you have to lift your arms up in front of the whole gym and bear all.

"I'm not looking at you, you're looking at me"

I'm looking at them because their looking at me but what if their looking at me because I'm looking at them? best just to look at the ground and avoid all awkward eye contact.

"Do I have a camel toe?"

Yoga pants just love to get all up in your business and you're constantly on high alert. But trying to discretely sort yourself out in front of a room full of people and mirrors just isn't as easy as you thin.

"Is she wearing makeup?"

I will never understand people who wear makeup to the gym. You don't need to look your best when sweating. Workout for yourself, not to impress people around you.

"Check me out, I'm like one of those fitness gurus now!"

That after workout feeling is just way to addictive, you're proud of yourself, feeling like the healthiest person ever! Just don't ruin that but stuffing your face after.

"I can't wait to shower"

No matter how amazing your workout is, nothing will beat the feeling of showering away all that sweat and grossness afterwards.

Summer Self Confidence

Summer is finally here, the season we've been waiting for all year, those amazing summer sales have started, the days are longer  and your dream of getting a gorgeous glowing tan might come true. But with the warm weather comes a lack of clothing and while some people are embracing the crop tops and short shorts, I'm feeling more insecure than ever. "Will my thighs stick together in these shorts?" "Does this skirt hide all my wobbly bits? these questions are constantly on my mind.

Now I don't consider myself as big, I'm a size 8-10 so people naturally assume I'm confident about my body. But I'm far from it, I completely despise my legs due to a lot of bullying while I was growing up. But this summer I'm putting a stop to my worries and insecurities and I want you to do the same as well! Wether you hide behind your jeans or makeup, it's time to fall in love with your appearance.

By changing your mindset when you look in the mirror, you can build up a positive wall and protect yourself. Change those negative thoughts of "My thighs are too big" to "Society says I need a thigh gap, but how can you have a great bum without strong thighs." Our bodies are built the way they are for a reason, so whatever size you are, if you feel good then you can look twice as good.

Although changing my mindset hasn't had an immediate effect as I'm still afraid of short shorts, I have being wearing my dresses and skirts without tights and I couldn't feel prouder of myself. These baby steps help you stay confident and comfortable in your own skin for life rather then feeling confident straight away and having one comment or bad outfit bring you down.

Get your legs out this summer and embrace your insecurities! xx

Secret To Loving Salad

There's something about the bright mixture of greens, reds and yellows that just makes me so hungry, the fact that all the flavors are completely different but go so well together. I'm not taking about a cheese and pesto pizza, I'm talking about a salad!  Now I know most of you are probably thinking "seriously?  I don't want to eat a load of vegetables in a bowl" but just bare with me here. Salad doesn't always have to be labeled as health food, but the fact that it's healthy makes it a guilt free guilty pleasure. It all depends on what's in it so before the season of bikini wearing and skin baring I want to share some tips on how to much yourself fall for this delicious dish and get that summer body without the struggle.

1. Choose a base green that you love, it doesn't have to be lettuce all the time, you can have: Spinich, Rocket, Cabbage and even Broccoli.

2. Put small amounts of food you actually like in it, there's no point forcing yourself to eat a bowl of vegetables your hate just because its healthy. I like to add a little bit of cheese, whatever kind you like but Feta is known to be the healthiest.

3. Meat is the secret to filling you up as salad isn't the most substantial meal. Cold cuts of  ham or chicken placed on top really makes it a lot more appetizing.

4. The special ingredient that pulls it all together, for example Avocado, Beet-root and even Pumpkin, these help make your salad more exciting and flavorful.

5. Nuts are also a great way to fill you up, Walnuts and Pine nuts are my favorite just sprinkled over it.

6. The choice of dressing can make or break your salad, sorry to say that Salad Cream is not the healthiest option and it can turn your healthy meal into an average calorie count meal. Dressing such as Balsamic Vinegar and Lemon dressing are light and full of flavor.

7. Make sure you think about what mealtime it is, a lunch salad is much lighter than a dinner salad so remember to either have a bigger portion or include more filling and nutritious ingredients.

8. Instead of having a piece of bread on the side why not try wholemeal crackers, with some light cream cheese spread on, they are far more healthy but still taste nice.

9. Mix it up, you don't want all the good stuff at the top and the greens left at the bottom, otherwise its too tempting to just leave them.

10. Have fun with it, get creative and put all sorts of delicious treasures in. Remember if you put small amounts of something a little unhealthy it wont be as bad as a whole meal full of it!

Happy Eating xx
