Outfit Of The Month | August | Back in the +852

Life Update

As you might have guessed already by the title or the fact that i've been here pretty much a month already but, IM BACK! I'm a bit love/hate with this city sometimes but after living away over the past 3 years it's taken me a bit of time to settle back in here. Hong Kong can be a bit wearing at times, from the crazy night life and dramatic events (i.e. getting hit in the face) to the many lunches and brunches. All while I attempt to get my life back together here, which includes a new job! Look at me being all adult... a very rare event indeed. But there's no denying I do love it here really.

I thought it was only fitting to do my first outfit of the month back home with Hong Kong's most iconic backdrop.

Top: Mong Kok Market
Skirt: Urban Outfitters
Shoes: Kurt Geiger
Necklaces: Forever 21 (choker) Topshop (pendant)

Outfit

Due to the hot and humid temperatures in the middle of summer here,  it's a little difficult to keep your style without sweating it through. But an off-the-shoulder top makes a great alternative from tank tops which I find myself in almost everyday. I've paired it with two layered necklaces, which have been a theme a lot this month because one just doesn't cut it! I would suggest getting a fancy pair of sandals to live in for the hotter months here as they can be dressed up or down without giving you a load of shoe drama.

See you in September

How To | Cover A Black Eye

So I like to keep it real on here and that involves me sharing my embarrassing drunk moments with you. Firstly I would just like to say, no I didn't get into a massive brawl and come out worst off. But long story short I ran passed someone just as they were swinging their arm around and bang... elbow right in the face. Anyway now I'm stuck with my first ever black eye and I'm gonna admit I'm feeling very sorry for myself. (I'm allowed I'm injured)

But I love a good excuse for a blogpost and it made me think about just how many people get into this situation, whether it's due to bad luck or a bad temper. Because unlike other bruises it's like RIGHT THERE on your face screaming at people to look at it and be shocked.

So without using any special treatments or anything I'm gonna attempt to cover it using basic makeup skills and show you the progress and outcome. Who knows, it could even have a killer smokey eye effect, gotta think about the positives people!

STEP 1:
Firstly I made sure I moisturised it and the rest of my face, I don't know why I just thought it would help. Then using Natural Collection's corrector stick in green, I covered the entire bruise and gently I repeat GENTLY! blend it in.

STEP 2:
Using your lightest concealer smother it all under your eye. I mean it use half the bottle if you must because you'd rather everyone think you're going overboard on the contour then have to explain yourself for the millionth time!

STEP 3:
Now if you have a darker concealer use it to try and defuse the whiteness but if not don't you worry, you can use foundation instead. I used a bit of both to "naturalise" the look.

STEP 4:
Now I'm looking a little more fresh i'll let you see my whole face! I then set some power over all the eye area so that it adds to the covering up as well as making sure all the other products stay in place!

STEP 5:
The final step is to add a little glow back into your face. Obviously it's not nice getting hurt so you're gonna be a bit pale and fragile but bronze it up and you'll be good to go!(at least for a few hours until you have to touch it up)

Black eye? what black eye? ;)
I hope this helps all of you who aren't the best at handling your booze
