Last Minute Halloween Costume | Fortune Teller

It's that spooky time of year again! For all you guys who can't ever seem to plan a costume on time, look no further! Using whatever I could find in my draws and a quick 10 minutes for makeup, I created a spooky/ slightly sexy? fortune teller look. You can choose whatever colour you want but I chose purple because it's a pretty spooky colour right? I dunno..anyway here's how to do it!

EYES

The main feature to this look is the eyes. Starting with a base of purple shadows, I used a mixture of light and dark tones, cover the outer edge of you eyelid. Don't be afraid to go over the lid towards your eyebrow...the more the merrier at this point!

Add black shadow or another dark shade into the crease and begin to blend it out and around your eye to give you a smokey, deeper shade. If you use a clean brush to blend you can avoid accidentally  placing more eye shadow then you intended...wish I followed my own advice..

Taking a silver shimmer liner and a brush (You can also use a black liner pen and add silver shadow ontop as a replacement) neatly draw a wing first, ending it in line with your eyebrow. From there you can easily line around the top of your eye, extending the line down from the corner of your eye. The bottom line doesn't need to be as think as the top, so just slowly paint the liner on starting from the corner until it meets the wing. Fill in any gaps or neaten it up making sure it's evenly distributed.

Because brows need as much attention as your eyes, add a little purple shadow over them because why not? you can also add a little bit of that silver liner if your feeling really crazy.

FACE

Now for every basic bitches favour part of their makeup routine, contour. For this look I went a little over board with the bronzer and highlighter because theres only really 2 days a year you can go look like a glowing goddess.. halloween and your birthday.

LIPS

Now its time for some ruby lips. If you have a berry/ purple shade then that would be perfect but red can work just as well depending on how noticeable you want them to be. I always find darker shades hard to apply so if you're a little clumsy a brush makes all the difference.

Back to that trusty silver liner again, using a brush apply a light coat around your lips as a sort of liner. You can also add a little onto your lips but make sure you can still see that colour through it! This just adds a little mystical touch to turn your look from normal to halloweeny.

Now that the make up is all sorted and have that mystical glow, you just need to throw on some jewellery to finish off the look! I put on some purple hooped earrings, 3 gem stone necklaces because the more the merrier! and used a coin necklace as a head piece by pining it into my hair. (yes I moved rooms for the last 2 pictures so I look more tanned #paleproblems)

Now you're all ready to cast some spells and cause some destruction  ;)

Halloween Tutorial | Washed Up Mermaid

It's that season again! Hello pumpkins and goodbye sunshine. I'm super exited about this look as it's creepy but sexy at the same time which is pretty rare if I'm being honest. If you wanting a more bloody or gory look check out my dead prom queen tutorial from last year. I came up with this costume idea after I dyed my hair "Washed up mermaid" colour but more about that here.

What You Need:

BASICS:

Face paint, Eyeliner (liquid and pencil), Mascara, Blue/ Green Eyeshadow (creme and power), Blue Glitter, Liquid Latex. Brushes and Sponges as necessary.

Optional:

Fake Eyelashes
Sliver Lip Gloss

Firstly:

Using your cheap face paint set mix green and white together to create a kind of seaweed colour and spread it around you face but make sure you leave your eyelids and a little bit under your eye uncovered.

I had to include this picture because it's hilarious

Then:

Using a white face crayon or whatever its called, contour your face like you usually would with bronzer or highlighter. Mark your check bone a little more then usual because scary things always have more defined cheekbones.

With your lightest glitter use the white line you just drew as a template to stick your glitter. Luckily my paint was still wet at this point so it suck straight away but if it's not just add a little water or more paint or whatever sticky stuff you want. (haha)

Now For The Eyes

Now using any blue eyeshadow, preferably a cream shadow (I used Mayblline's Colour Tattoo in Turquoise Forever) cover your whole eyelid up to your brow and make sure its really visible.

At this point my camera ran out of battery and although I'm a confidant person walking to the shops like this was not an appealing option so I started using my laptop photo booth. #donthate

For under your eye take a silver cream liner or shadow I used (Topshop Grunge stick) and draw a really thick line, enlarge the flick at the end to make it just touch your eyebrows. This gives your eyes bigger and more fishy looking, because well mermaids are fish...kinda.

Just like normal eyeshadow, you need to shadow your crease using a more green tone to contrast against the blue.

Don't forget to add a bit of eyeliner just to give this look a slightly sexy feel even dead mermaids can be hot.

False leashes are not a must for this look but they do add a little pop to your eyes and if you can find blue ones they'll be the best. For everyone thats not an expert at fake lashes it took me 3 attempts to get these on and I almost had a hissy fit.......almost.

Eyebrows are a centre aspect of your face so why not make them sparkle a little... literally. Dab some leftover green paint or water on your brows to help the glitter stick and glitter up them bad boys.

Lips

Dark lips really give this look the gothic look it needs. If you have a dark purple or even black lipstick then it'll be perfect but I just used a black coloured face crayon thing. Colour in all your lips neatly because this stuff is hard to correct.

More Glitter!

Add some more water or paint to the lower part of your cheeks and draw a slightly thicker glitter line using a different colour or shade from what you used on your cheekbones.

This Gets Messy

Using liquid Latex dab little blobs down on your forehead making sure you put enough to make it 3D and then using your darkest glitter stick it to the latex. Don't worry if you get glitter everywhere thats totally supposed to happen.

Now do the same for the rest of your forehead this gives the look of scales coming out of your hair.

Final Touchups

Firstly make sure your green paint is still all even and theres not big lumps of green, then using a liquid silver liner smudge a silver top coat on your lips to make them slightly grey and dead looking.

Now let your hair flow free girl and embrace your greenish scaly beauty!

By the way I hope you guys noticed the cute halloween bunting I put in the back ground that literally took 10 minuets to hang up so it was in shot!
